What is the booking process

Step 1: inquire; fill out the contact form on our website so we have all the pertinent information for your day

Step 2: We determine artist availability based on other bookings and location then provide a quote for service and travel fees if required.

Step 3: If you would like to proceed with booking, you will receive a Wedding Agreement (contract) for your review and signature, as well as an invoice for a retainer. The retainer is 50% of the fees for services.

Step 4: Once the retainer and wedding agreement are received, you are booked! 

Upon completion of booking you will receive a comprehensive preparation guide for the 6 months leading up to your wedding with suggestions on skin and hair care and treatments.

Where are you located?

Lilies and Lace is a mobile company with artists residing in Banff, Canmore, Cochrane & Calgary.

Travel Fees

Travel fees are dependent on the location of your wedding and the location of the artist booked.  When possible, we try to book artists closest to your location to eliminate travel fees or keep them to a minimum.  In the case that an artist s required to travel from Cochrane or Calgary, you can expect travel fees in the range of $70 to $85.

How far in advance should I book?

We are typically fully booked for weekend dates in peak season 8 to 10 months in advance. Because we are in a very busy wedding market and our artists are in high demand, we do suggest booking 10 to 12 months in advance for wedding dates from June to October.

Can I request an artist?

Yes! If the artist is not available for your day, we can suggest another one of our talented artists for you.

I’m not sure if everyone in my party will want hair or makeup, when do you need to know?

We would like a confirmed number by the time of booking, this is so we can make sure we set aside the correct amount of time and number of artists.

What products do you use?

All artists use professional, high end and luxury products. Each artist has tailored her kit with products she loves, has tested and stands behind 100%.  Please let us know if there are products you prefer or have an aversion to.

Do you offer touch-ups and touch up kits?

Within the timeline, we factor in time to do quick touch ups for everyone who received services. Anyone booked for makeup services will receive a touch up kit.

If you’re looking for an artist to remain onsite for touch-ups, there will be an hourly standby rate. If you require a style change, the standby rate and the restyle rate (equal to bridal hair and makeup rate) will apply.

What if I have very sensitive skin that reacts to makeup?

While all of our artists use professional makeup products, we cannot guarantee that you or your attendants who have sensitive skin or allergies will not have adverse reactions. If you are concerned you have very sensitive skin or allergies, please let you artist know. We are happy to work with your own products if necessary and or having a preview before the big day.  

Can I book a trial before securing my wedding date:

Due to the volume and wealth of experience of our artist, we now only offer BRIDAL PREVIEWS. This can be scheduled once your wedding date has been secure by retainer and completed contract.

Are trials (Bridal Previews) recommended?

It is up to you!  As many of our clients travel from all parts of Canada and abroad, it can be difficult to arrange a preview.  With a wealth of experience in the wedding industry our artists can work off a photo or description of a style.  

Booking a Bridal Preview

We suggest Previews take place within 4 months of the wedding when possible. In our experience having it closer to your day, and once you have your dress and accessories is best. 

Please bring hair accessories, veil and inspiration photos to your appointment.

Trials are 1 to 1.5 hours. Trials typically take place in the town/city your artist resides in. Weekends are limited due to wedding bookings. 

What do I need to know about my wedding day?

Timing: We usually allow 45 mins to 1 hour per service. Please let us know if there is any reason you feel more time may be needed, such as very long thick hair, acne, etc.

15 minutes will be added for hair extension.

We suggest finishing services 1 hour before you need to leave for your ceremony or photos.
